100% of Donations Fund Tools. Not Overhead.
Not Salaries. Not office space. Not galas. Tools.
A standing board resolution covers every operating cost, even the credit-card fee on your gift, so your full donation becomes tools.
The IRS approved us faster than we expected. We could have sat on the paperwork. Instead, this December our starter cycle puts the first four Apprentice Tool Grants into graduates' hands. In January we announce how many grants the 2027 cycle will fund. The founding board has already covered next year's first four, and every outside gift raises that number. Give now, and become a founding supporter.
Clicking Donate opens a secure PayPal window to finish your gift (PayPal or any card; no account needed). Your payment information is processed by PayPal and never stored by VBCTF.
New for 2026: your gift to VBCTF is tax-deductible even if you don't itemize- up to $1,000 per person, $2,000 for couples filing jointly, for cash gifts.
The Virginia Blue-Collar Tool Foundation is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Donations fund tools, not overhead. No paid staff. No golf tournaments. No galas. Every grant is made in-kind, we buy the tools directly and put them in a graduate's hands.
Virginia trade graduates earned their certifications. The only thing standing between them and their first day on the job is the cost of a professional tool kit. You can fix that.
Suggested Amounts
$100 — A handful of professional hand tools. Real ones, not the kind that break on the first job.
$500 — A serious head start on a trade-specific tool kit for a graduate who's ready to work.
$1,950 — One complete Apprentice Tool Grant. Everything one Virginia trade graduate needs to show up first-day ready.
